We had a diverse group for our monthly Iraq Moratorium vigil on Lake Avenue at the 210 Freeway. We had a metropolitan bus driver stop during her break, park her bus, and join us. She said her brother is in Iraq and she is completely against the war and occupation. We also had some skateboarders join us, and an unemployed and homeless man, who said he has no medical insurance, and who was very articulate in his opposition to the war -- noting that money spent on the war could be used for a jobs creation program and affordable housing. The support from the public was overwhelming -- many honks, thumbs up, and peace signs. The people in this area are solidly against this war and occupation.
