Haight-ashbury Neighborhood Peace Vigil
03/21/2008 6:00 - 8:00 pm
Panhandle, Masonic between Oak and Fell, San Francisco, CA US
Sponsored by
Neighborhood Peace Vigil. (Everybody welcome). Rain or shine. We have candles and signs for you, but you are welcome to bring your own as well. One issue focus--end the war in Iraq--support our troops and the Iraqi people by ending the war now. (Relating the cost of the war to the Federal, State, and City budget deficits is still part of our single issue focus).
Although it's spring, the vigil will end at least 45 minutes past sunset, so please dress warmly. Cookies will be served.

Reports, Updates, Comments
We had a smaller than usual turnout--about 15 participants. Some of our regulars had spent a full day protesting the war just two days before our vigil (and some had been arrested). Others may have been out of town, as it was both Easter weekend and spring break. Still, we had a spirited vigil, with a lot of support from traffic on the street. Our participants included some people from out of town.
